About GAEP

Georgia Chapter Function and Purpose:

The primary function of GAEP is be to enhance, maintain, and protect the quality of the natural and human environment through cooperation with the National Association of Environmental Professionals (NAEP). The specific purpose of GAEP is to encourage and facilitate full participation in NAEP and GAEP goals and activities by all persons qualified to be members of GAEP and NAEP and to include the widest range of views and concerns of professionals engaged in the environmental field. Finally, the purpose of GAEP is to advance professionalism in environmental planning and reporting in the State of Georgia.

GAEP Mission:

GAEP seeks to advance professionalism among Georgia’s environmental practitioners by promoting a holistic understanding of environmental issues by creating forums for the discussion of issues and ideas, providing multidisciplinary continuing education, sharing innovative solutions, and developing relationships with other environmental professionals in Georgia and nationwide.

Antonia Kopp

“My name is Antonia Kopp, and I am a fourth-year undergraduate studying environmental engineering at Georgia Tech. I look forward to a career in the water industry working on treatment and utility management projects. At Georgia Tech, I am a co-president of the Association of Environmental Engineers and Scientists (AEES) and a member of the Sustainable Solutions competition team within the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). In my free time, I enjoy gardening, baking, and going to trivia with friends!”


Ashleigh Feltman

“Hi! My name is Ashleigh Feltman, and I am a third-year student at Georgia Southern University. I am majoring in Biology with a concentration in wildlife management. I have a special interest in ensuring that rare, threatened, and endangered species are protected. Once I obtain my bachelor’s degree, I intend to pursue my master’s of science. I would like to have a career monitoring and studying threatened and endangered species. I enjoy hiking, kayaking, fishing, and hunting in my free time.”
